Corinne Sheffield, affectionately known as 'Aunt Coe', was born December 11, 1906 in Palestine, Texas.  She was one of six children parented by Ella Burgess and James A. Lacy.  At almost 96 years of age, she was the last living member of her nuclear family.  The day prior to her departure, she discussed her journey through 'Macedonia' en route to becoming 'an angel'.
Corinne was united in marriage with Edward Sheffield on September 5, 1933.  Four children were born of this union:  Bobbie Jean Commodore, Charles Edward Sheffield, June Sheffield, and Audrey Eleanor Sheffield.  Her husband, Edward and daughter, June, predeceased her.
Corinne will lovingly be remembered for her quiet intellect, generosity, serious wit and wisdom.  her creative writing is legendary.  Her joy of baking was evident in the treats she shared with many.
Corinne completed all of her informal education in Palestine, Texas.  She also studied at the University of Southern California. Corinne was employed as a housekeeper most of her employment years.,  She supplemented her income by teaching shorthand/typing classes.  Corinne encouraged young people to pursue successful career paths.
Corinne was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.  Her religious beliefs were unwavering.  her commitment and dedication to her church family were unconditional.  She served in numerous church positions, the last and longest as church clerk.
Corrine's family grieves, but also rejoices at her obtaining her ultimate goal.  Her spirit will always remain strong within her children:  Bobbie (husband, Ernest) Commodore; Charles (wife, Eunetta) Sheffield; and Audrey Sheffield; her grandchildren:  Carolyn Faye Smith, Darryl (wife, Patricia) Jefferson, Michael (wife, Patricia) Jefferson, Patricia Jefferson, Donna Lewis, Ann (husband, Lionel) Daly, Charles Anthony (wife, Suzette( Sheffield, and Brett Sheffield; great-grandchildren:  Lisa Smith, Dana Smith Lacy, Damel Varick, Tekina (husband David) Bohmann, Kristopher Hudnall, Kirstie Hudnall, Tyrone Bergmann, Raven Bergmann, Jasmine Bergmann, Dashun Daly and Lake Mawu Sheffield; one great-great grandson, Damel Varick, Jr. and many special nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
